Welcome to CMIT
Creative Media & Information Technology
The CMIT team is dedicated to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate degree-level modules in creative media and information technology, and teaching and research in the field of Digital Arts and Humanities. We are based in Queen's Building on the University of Exeter's Streatham Campus.
Add Information Technology to Your Degree
Our degree-level modules are open to everyone across the University and are taken by over 200 students each year. You can choose up to 30 credits each year as optional modules without affecting your main degree title. Or you can choose to take more modules as part of a themed pathway so you can graduate with the degree of BA Information Technology or BA Digital Arts and Humanities.
European Computer Driving Licence option
Start your University career with a good foundation in IT skills. The 'ECDL' module can usually be taken as an option in your first year and leads to the internationally recognised ECDL qualification, which is accredited by the British Computer Society. The module provides basic training in IT skills, and examines some of the wider implications of information technology in the home, workplace and society in general.
The level 2 'Vocational Computing' module is available to second and third year students and also includes the ECDL qualification.
Students can also take the qualification outside of their degree at cost. The ECDL qualification can count towards your Exeter Award.
